Is it tough to prepare for a regular journal club? Does your journal club teach all of the important points about literature evaluation? Are your journal club leaders scrambling at the last minute to analyze the assigned articles?
You can now have regular, highly educational journal club meetings...without the usual headaches. It's called PL Journal Club. We send residency programs the materials they need to have a great journal club, with great discussions.
We organize and provide the background so you can focus on the discussion and the learning.
Each month you get a new topic that is relevant to your daily practice, and we provide an in-depth analysis of the study validity. PL Journal Club is organized with “Leader Notes” to guide the discussion and includes links to the original articles, a review of current therapy, analysis of new studies, discussion of how practice should change...plus a case to discuss.
The “Participant Notes” includes background materials and questions that the leader will pose. And as a PL Journal Club subscriber, your learners will get full access to the Prescriber’s Letter site (or Pharmacist's Letter site), including articles, Detail-Documents, Charts, Algorithms, Toolboxes, and more!
PL Journal Club covers a broad range of articles to analyze, such as randomized controlled trials, cohort studies, meta-analyses, practice guidelines, and quality improvement interventions. We do the work to point out study flaws and limitations, types of bias, and include concepts such as the Number Needed To Treat. With PL Journal Club, you can deliver an outstanding discussion and help your participants apply the information to their daily practice.
